Passed away peacefully at the Helen Henderson Care Centre with family at his side on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in his 90th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie Merkley (née Tuepah). Dear father of Edward (Tanya), Thelma, Tracy (David) and James (Cora-Lee). Proud grandfather of Samantha, Jordan, Skylar, Kyle, Sheldon, Alexaise (Wayne), Crystal, Stephanie (James), Ashley, Kathleen and Kaitlyn (Chris). Also missed by his many great grandchildren. Survived by his loving sisters Barbara Brown (Bob) and Dorothy Sagriff (Don). Predeceased by his brother Howard Merkley and sisters Phyllis Leveque, Muriel Truscott (late Vick), Thelma Simmons (late Ray) and Audrey Stone (late Don). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa on Wednesday, May 22nd from 5-7 pm. Cremation will follow. A private family Graveside Service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
For those desiring, memorial donations to a local Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
