David (Pa/Dave) passed peacefully on June 11, 2025 at the AB Smith Homestead House at the age of 82. He is survived by his grandson Rowan, his daughter Brandy, his brother LeRoy (Rosemary d. 2019) and their family. David was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Clara (McCormick).
David loved to hunt and over the years there were many good times with family and friends chasing after deer in the hills which successfully avoided being caught. Of course, deer hunting involved dogs and there were many over his lifetime that were always a big part of his life.
David was a proud member of AA and enjoyed his 42nd birthday recently. He was an inspiration and support to many over the years. His motto was “one day at a time” and he lived by that each day encouraging others to do the same. His greatest joy was his grandson Rowan who gave him some of the best years of his life.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st from 11:00 – 2:00 pm., at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 623 in Millhaven. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to Bath United Church, UHKF (memo - AB Smith Homestead House), or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
