At the age of 92, Ron passed away at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Friday, December 15, 2023. Loving husband of Ferne (née Scouten) for 71 years.  Dear father of Len Ross (Tammy), Lavern Ross (Elaine), the late Greg Ross (Denise) and Calvin Ross (Michelle). Cherished grandfather of Crystal, Ryan, David, Amey and Ronnie and great grandfather of 7. Ron enjoyed his career as a mechanic but music was a big part of his life. One of his favourite passions was playing the fiddle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 3-5 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11 am. Interment Newburgh Cemetery.

 

For those desiring, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

We are so sorry for your loss. Memories growing up and going with my dad to get something fixed at Ron's shop, to enjoying many years of snowmobiling together and listening to his music, to the last few months chatting at Wendy's over a bowl of chili, Ron and Ferne were a stable part of the community and he will be sorely missed by many. My very sincere condolences to Ferne, Len, Lavern, Calvin and the rest of the Ross family! As a young boy I have fond memories in grades 6-9 I would ride my bicycle from the Wilton village to the Ross home and hang out with Greg and Calvin in the garage and many times invited into there home. I was always treated by there mom and dad like family. There dad was a fine gentleman as I knew him and I'm sure he will be missed by many! Rest in peace Mr. Ross you had a wonderful family! I have been so blessed to have you as a Father-in-law. We spent many years sitting around the table telling stories and sharing memories . Gregory said he will always remember the many camping and fishing trips at the Heritage Camp ground. We had fun wit Grandpa Ron and Grandma and the circle gang . Gregory caught a 10lb pyke .
