Peter was such a kind gentle giant and loving stepfather, Poppa and Great Poppa to our family. He loved his “beautiful Joan” so much and we will be forever grateful for his devotion to our mother for over thirty years and how he treated her with such love and respect. Peter will always be a cherished part of our memories and we will miss him very much. We enjoyed many family dinners, card game nights in the Christmas room, sleepovers, birthday parties and vacations. The great grand kids still remember swimming in the pool on King street! We love you and know we will be reunited one day in heaven. Much love, your stepchildren and grandchildren , the Hawley and Fudge families.

Hi Joan, Evelyn and I just only read about Peter’s passing. We are in Tokyo Japan on a World Cruise with Holland America and we won’t be home until the middle of May. We will always remember the great times we had together travelling and golfing, dinners and lunches with both you and Peter. Joan take care of yourself and we will see you in May. We are so sorry for your loss but we believe that you and Peter will be re-united in heaven someday soon. Ian and Evelyn Leach

Dearest Poppa, you are already so terribly missed. Thank you for your unconditional love, and childhood memories. Sleepovers in Camden East, and enjoying walks in the back field with the dogs will always stay in my heart….. I’m so glad that my own children got to spend their lives enjoying making memories with you- even through Covid, doing crafts outside the windows to keep you and nana safe, and FaceTimes. You are such a kind and gentle spirit, and I will always remember you as that.
