Obituary of Miles Albert Thompson

It is with tremendous sadness the family of Miles Albert Thompson announce his passing at the John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee on Thursday, July 6, 2023, in his 79th year. Predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Deb (nee Hanna) on November 24, 2022. Proud and cherished father of Ken, Jackie, Jeff (Julie) and Kim (Rick). Extremely proud grandfather of Kendra, Katie, Daniel, Taylor (Isaac), Emily, Matthew and Hailey and great grandfather of Tate. Survived by his sister Betty Wales (late Robert) and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Grant Hanna (Shawn), Phil Hanna (Carol Anne), Judy Joyce (Jerry), Susan Baker (Hughie), Gwen England (late Rick) and Robin Asselstine (Dave). Predeceased by his parents Harold and Bernice Thompson. Also missed by many nieces and nephews and their families, and many dear friends. The family would like to especially thank the staff at the John M. Parrott Centre for the wonderful care they provided. You will be greatly missed and forever loved Dad, Poppa, Great Poppa.

 

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373) on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Centreville United Church on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 3:30 pm. Interment will follow at Thompson-Vrooman Cemetery in Centreville.

Their is a palatable sadness here where he lived. He was loved by his many caregivers and residents as well as numerous people who worked throughout the complex. He was one of a kind. I miss him terribly. I will never forget this unique man that I had the privilege and pleasure to know. I’m sorry for each of his family members. My sincere sympathy to Miles love ones.
