Obituary of Harry Revell

Please share a memory of Harry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

(Revell Ford Lincoln)

The family of Harry Maxwell Davis Revell of Verona, Ontario and more recently Kingston, Ontario is saddened to announce his passing on December 5, 2023 at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre. He was 96.

Harry was predeceased by the love of his life Betty Revell (nee Aylesworth); brother Glen Revell and his wife Elda; and grandson Craig Revell. Surviving family include siblings: Ruth Babcock (Bud) of Oshawa ; Gwen Grant (Floyd) of Verona; Lynn Revell (Debby) of Kingston; and his children and their spouses;  Al Revell (Judy) of Kingston; Larry Revell (Tracy) of Verona; and Janice Bastian (Robert) of Downers Grove, Illinois. In addition, he leaves behind his grandchildren: Brad Revell (Jen), Nathan Revell (Alex), Joshua Revell (Nicole), Zachary Bastian (Lisa), and Charis Ellis (Ben), and twelve great-grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Harry became fond of Ford vehicles at a young age and that continued for the rest of his life. Up until his recent stay in the hospital, his favourite outside activity was being picked up by one of his sons or grandsons at Kingsbridge Retirement Community and driven to his dealership where he would visit with the staff.

Harry was a man of deep Christian faith, a devoted churchman, with unshakable integrity. He was a patient and kind man with a good sense of humour. The family will miss his gentle eyes, hearty laugh, and loving nature.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Verona Free Methodist Church with Interment immediately following at the Verona Cemetery.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Kingsbridge Retirement Community second floor nurses, personal service workers, and other staff and Dr. Porter for their kindness and assistance to their father in his final years. They also extend deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and PSWs on Kidd 3 who took such good care of their father in his last month of life.

Donations may be made in Harry’s memory to the Verona Free Methodist Church where he was a member for most of his life.

Arrangements entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.

My sincere sympathies go out to the entire Revell Family. I have had the pleasure to work with many of this wonderful family over my 15 years in Verona. My first interaction with Harry, however, left a very lasting memory in my mind. I was pulling into work one day and I was driving a Chevrolet truck. Harry was out in the lot surveying the stock and he took one look at me in my truck and said "You sure look good in that truck!! You'd look better in a Ford tho". This line must have worked for him before I thought, as his business is now into it's 85thyear !!

We have many fond memories of Mr. Revell- as we respectfully called him - even though he always said please call me Harry. We spent some time with him at hockey rinks as he watched Al & Larry play. We hugged hard when his heart broke after the death of his beloved grandson, Craig & later the love of his life ,Betty. We always enjoyed spending some time with him at the dealership as he welcomed customers & talked about his family & always asked about ours. To all of the family, we hope that your memories carry you through the difficult days & you have some peace knowing he is reunited with those he loved so dearly. .. Rick & Cathy Goodfellow
