Obituary of Donald Edwin Moore

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sadly, Donald Moore of Amherstview, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, just 10 days shy of his 92nd birthday. Predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Yvonne (née Strickland). Dear father to Charlie (Michelle) and Joanne (Elton). Don will be greatly missed for his common sense wisdom from a long and well lived life. With his gentle, easy going manner, and dry sense of humour, Don was loved by all who knew him.

Originally from the Lombardy area, Don has many family members who are greatly saddened by his loss. He was a large part of his 8 grandchildren’s lives, Ian, Codie (Lauren), James (Sasha) and Eric (Julia) Branco; Ryan, Alex (Kaysi), Nicholas, and only granddaughter Olivia Moore, along with 9 great grandchildren.

As a member of the War Amputations of Canada, the Legion, a volunteer Firefighter, and a 68 year Amherstview resident, Don had many friends who will also be grieving his loss. All our lives will be less rich without Dad’s presence.

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 4-8 pm. For those desiring, donations to the Collins Bay Legion Br. 631 or the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.

Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
