There was never lack of work to do and Laurie worked many long hard hours. He was never too busy to have a conversation about work, family or equipment for sale online. Laurie was very proud of his family and was surrounded by many good friends and neighbours. I will miss those conversations, my work relationship and daily phone calls. Sharon, Rachael and Maggie, you are in our thoughts and prayers always. The Silver Family

Our family send our deepest condolences to Sharon, Rachel, Maggie. Words are not enough to express the loss of Laurie. He was a hardworking dedicated farmer who pride himself on family and friends, his church and his livestock. He always had time to answer his phone and assist a friend about a health ailment of a cow or calf just like having a vet at your finger tips. Cherish your memories of Laurie and hold them close to your heart. Our prayers are for your family at this very difficult time. Bob, Cindy, Chris and Maddy Jeffrey, Cedar Ridge Farm, Odessa, ON

Our farm almost abutted the Simpson farm, and I rode the school bus with Laurie most days. After we left school we didn’t see each other much, but my mother Johanne often had cause to speak of his kindness (usually when the horses found yet another weak spot in the boundary fence). I’m sure his mom was waiting for him with her arms open wide. That would have been one joyful reunion. I’m so sorry for your great loss. Holding everyone who loved Laurie in the Light and in my heart. Jennie Wright

Words cannot express our deepest sympathy to Sharon, Rachael and Maggie. Laurie was a dear friend to our family. He was a great person to deal cattle with and was always ready to help, if needed. He was an honest man, and you could tell just by the way he spoke to them, how much he cared for his animals. He will be greatly missed by lots in the farming community. Rest in peace dear friend. When my husband started to milk in 1994 the first cows came from Laurie. Since then Laurie has made countless trips here buying or selling and with each of those trips, in true farmer style, there was always a little time to visit. It is hard to believe there will be no more visits. We cannot express how deeply sorry we are for your loss. Dwaine and Brenda
