Obituary of Ernest George Young

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Ernest Young on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at AB Smith Homestead House. He leaves precious memories for his loving wife Marilyn (née Freeman), his brother Fletcher Young (Glenda), his brother and sister-in-law Ray and Marion Freeman and his faithful and thoughtful God-daughter Carol Haskim and her husband John Haskim. He also leaves behind many caring nephews, nieces and cousins. Ernie was predeceased by his parents Maude and Ernest Young Sr. and sisters Sandra Derue and Bonnie Hartley.

His most enjoyable times were when he was lake trout fishing. Ernie will be greatly missed. A special thank-you to the staff at AB Smith Homestead House for their exceedingly compassionate care. It was very much appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Payne Funeral Home in Odessa on Friday, November 28^th between 2 and 4 pm.
