Passed away peacefully at the Bayshore Transitional Care Unit in Amherstview on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Edmond ‘Eddie’ Balesdent. Dear and loving mother of Shawn (Allana) and Jamie (Marie-Josée), and cherished grandmother of Joshua (Kaila), Shawna, Alexandre and Simon. Survived by her sisters Marjorie Turcotte (late Wilfred), Lois Harquail (late Lonnie) and Armilda Dixon (late Wayne) and brothers Douglas (Barb), Glenn (Connie), David (Jane) and Dale (Bonnie). Predeceased by her sisters Geraldine Bald (late Bob) and Debbie Thompson, and brother Reginald (Marg). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families.

 

The family will receive friends at the Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373) on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11 am. Interment Morven Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial donation to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

My deepest sympathies for the family of Joan. I knew Joan from the church years ago. She played the guitar so beautifully. I always enjoyed seeing her in church. She was always a kind and loving person to me. I passed by her home the other day and thought of her fondly.
