Sadly Bob passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee at the age of 82. Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife Wendy (née White) who was by his side when he died. He will be dearly missed by Wendy’s children, Tracy Riley and Tony Riley (Renée), and grandchildren Olivia, Timothy, Riley and Claire. Bob will be fondly remembered by aunt June Fuller, and cousins in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Germany and Luxembourg. Predeceased by his first wife Kay (née Harvey) and his parents Hubert and Gundrun Brockmeyer.

 

Special thanks to Home Care for the PSW and nursing support that Bob received over the last two years which enabled him to remain at home. Deepest gratitude to all of the Doctors, nurses and staff in all departments at the L&A Hospital who provided him with excellent care since August of this year.

 

As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Interment will be at Cataraqui Cemetery (927 Purdy’s Mill Road, Kingston) on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm., officiated by the Reverend Barbara Mahood. Family and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery office at 2:45 pm. If desired, memorial donations to Hospice L&A, the L&A Hospital Foundation or a favourite charity of choice will be remembered with appreciation by the family.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.

Dear Wendy - we are so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing and our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. As we just reminisced, it takes a pretty special person to portray the tooth fairy. I know he's enjoying those heavenly roads on the bike and we'll always remember all the fun and laughter we shared together on our road trips. Craig & Maggie
