Obituary of Leanne Shorrock (Geoghegan)

Please share a memory of Leanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leanne Jayne Shorrock who left us on October 6, 2024 at the age of 68, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Leanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who brought love and laughter to all who knew her.

Leanne is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Glenn; her son Clayton; her daughter Janessa; her treasured granddaughters Macie and Abbygail (Erick); her brother in-law Wayne Shorrock and sister in-law Sherry Shorrock. She will be affectionately remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. She was especially close with nephews Ray (Gail) and Joe (Kelly) and nieces Kelly (Gilles) and Michelle (Squid). Leanne is predeceased by her brother Bud, sisters Jacqueline and Rosemary, her brother-in-law Ian Shorrock and her nephew Kyle Shorrock.

Leanne’s happiest moments were those spent with family and friends, especially at the lake, where music and laughter filled the air around the campfire. A lifelong fan of Bruce Springsteen, her love for music was a constant source of happiness and connection. She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Leanne’s life will take place at The Millhaven Legion Branch 623 on Saturday, October 26th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory. Special thanks goes out to all of the healthcare workers and medical professionals who were there to assist Leanne and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Millhaven Legion would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa, Ontario.

I was so saddened to hear of Leannes passing , I worked with Leanne on the Board of Ed , caretaking ( Ernestown Secondary School ) the last few years before she retired . This lady made it worthwhile to go to work , her SMILE and her LAUGHTER made who Leanne was. She was kind , she was funny , great work partner . I will always cherish the moments we had good laughs....Sincere Condolences to Leannes family and friends that had the privilege to know this fine lady.....Rest easy my friend... from Marg Lajoie

I remember the first time meeting Leanne. Les and I were visiting Squid and Michelle when Leanne stopped in. We were introduced and she immediately started asking me questions. Do you live near here? Where do you work? Do you have kids? ect. As soon as she knew that I was a friend of Michelle's I felt like I was instantly a member of the family. I will always remember her willingness to join in to what ever adventure was happening. Camping at my cabin and Crow lake. Meeting up at 5am to watch Queen Elizabeth's event and many Friday lunches. Going to miss her laugh and gentle spirit. Jeannie
